Jim Gerwien is the Chief Executive Officer for Extant Aerospace. Mr. Gerwien has more than 29 years of aerospace industry experience in a wide variety of businesses and executive leadership roles. Prior to founding Extant, Mr. Gerwien was President of BBA Aviation's Legacy Support Division with responsibility for the company's Ontic Engineering and Manufacturing business unit, where he had previously served as President from 2002 to 2008. He began his aerospace career with General Electric in 1982 and held a number of executive leadership positions within the company. He later served as Business Unit Manager for Vickers Fluid Power, a division of Eaton Aerospace in Jackson, Mississippi. Mr. Gerwien holds a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a BSME from the University of Connecticut.
Gary Boekenkamp is Executive Vice President of Strategy & Corporate Development for Extant Aerospace, responsible for both the development and execution of Extant’s core business and strategic growth initiatives. Mr. Boekenkamp's background includes over 35 years of executive management experience in the business, general, commercial, and military aviation industries. Prior to joining Extant, he served as Vice President of Marketing & Strategic Business Development for BBA Aviation Legacy Products Group. Mr. Boekenkamp has held a variety of marketing, operations and general management positions with Gulf+Western Advanced Engineering Center, Atlantic Aviation, Aviall , Dallas Airmotive, and Signature Flight Support. He is a graduate of William Paterson University, attended graduate school at Drexel University and completed executive leadership courses in Strategic Planning and Marketing Management at the University of Michigan and the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.
Edward Dietze is the Chief Financial Officer having joined Extant in July, 2016. He has over 30 years of experience in finance and accounting. Prior to joining Extant, Mr. Dietze ran a consulting business helping clients with acquisitions, raising capital and outsourced CFO functions. From 2003 through 2014 Mr. Dietze was the CFO of CAMP Systems International, a $100+ million provider of web based aviation maintenance tracking services. Before CAMP, Mr. Dietze held the position of Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of David E. Young, Inc., a $60 million distributer of magazines and periodicals. Prior to that, Mr. Dietze was Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the New York Academy of Sciences. Mr. Dietze received his M.B.A. degree with distinction from Hofstra University in 1985. He is a commercial pilot and married with two children.
Michael Donlan is the Vice President Business Development and Customer Service for Extant Aerospace. Based in Scottsdale, Arizona, Mr. Donlan’s focus is on expanding Extant’s Licensing and EMS business with major aerospace electronics and avionics OEMs. Mr. Donlan’s background includes more than 30 years of experience with Honeywell Aerospace in both the commercial and military aerospace markets including terms as Global Business Leader for Honeywell’s Business & General Aviation (B&GA) Mechanical Aftermarket and Services and Vice President B&GA Global Aftermarket Sales. His product background includes Turbofan/Turboprop Engines and Engine Controls, Avionics, Electronic and Mechanical Accessories, Auxiliary Power Units, Environmental Control Systems, Electrical Power Systems, Oxygen Generating Systems, and Landing Systems and Controls. Mr. Donlan graduated from Ball State University with a duel Major in Marketing and Business Management.
Charles Mitchell is the Vice President of Operations for Extant Aerospace, responsible for Supply Chain, Manufacturing, & Quality. Mr. Mitchell spent 10 years at the Harris Corporation in varying technical and leadership roles supporting multiple commercial and military platforms. Before joining Extant, Mr. Mitchell was the Director of Operations for the Harris Corporation within the Electronics Systems segment responsible for the management of multiple factories across the United States spanning a large breath of technologies: Avionics Electronics, Commercial Electronics, Ground Based Antenna Systems, Radar Systems, and Composite Structures. Mr. Mitchell is a graduate from Auburn University with both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering.
