The AN/ALE-47(V) is the US military's primary chaff and flare dispensing system, used on nearly 40 different platforms in 30 countries around the world.

The system comprises six key components: the Programmer (central processing unit), the Safety Switch (which prevents accidental dispensing), the Dispenser Assembly (which holds 30 expendables), the Sequencer (which manages pin location and power), the Control Display Unit (the operator interface), and a software loader for mission data.
