Improved Data Modems

The Improved Data Modem (IDM) products provide a data link capable of passing data between air and ground systems as well as vital air-to-air data between IDM-equipped aircraft.

The system uses multiple radio types — HF, UHF, VHF, and SATCOM — along with Blue Force Tracker and IP network connectivity for secure, mission-critical data transmission. Supported protocols vary by model and include AFAPD, TACFIRE, MTS, IDL, MIL-STD-188-220, and PTAC.
