Lightning Detection Systems

Stormscope® is a long-range, high-performance thunderstorm avoidance system that provides more display and installation flexibility than other Stormscopes. The display may be shared with SkyWatch HP traffic avoidance systems. Under normal operation the display shows thunderstorm activity; if a traffic threat is detected, it switches automatically to display that information, then reverts to Stormscope mode once the threat is no longer a factor. The display can also be switched manually.

• Plots lightning as it happens, before the onset of precipitation
• Displays lightning in 25, 50, 100, and 200 nmi ranges
• Pilot-selectable Cell and Strike modes
• 360-degree view or 120-degree forward-looking
• Updates lightning information every second
• Strike Rate indicator details building or dissipating storms
• Integrates with SkyWatch Collision Avoidance Systems
